Kingfisher Airlines stops operations to many cities

India based Kingfisher Airlines announced that it was suspending flights to many cities, beginning today. The airline also told about 3,500 employees not to show up for work. The financially troubled airline is waiting for decisions from the government and other associations to be made concerning its future. Kingfisher is expected to lay off a very large number of workers in the near future. Kingfisher will not suspend flights on important hub to hub routes, as well as at most airports where they are the only operator. The airline that once served over 60 cities will now only serve about 30.
